We are here to help expectant mothers and new mums to not only cope with, but enjoy their experiences of pregnancy. Post-natal recovery is a speciality of Tality Fitness, achieved through carefully designed exercises for each trimester, aimed at increasing strength and flexibility for coping with the demands of pregnancy and birth. We also offer advice on posture correction, breathing, relaxation techniques; post-natal exercise with an emphasis on pelvic floor control and abdominal muscle training; nutritional advice and guidance in achieving and maintaining a healthy weight.

Regular physical activity (both aerobic and strength exercises) is proven to contribute to a healthier and more independent lifestyle, leading to an improved quality of life. The benefits of aerobic exercise are evidenced through a reduction in the risk factors associated with heart disease, diabetes, etc. Additional benefits from regular exercise include improved bone health and a reduction in the risk of osteoporosis, improved posture and stability, increased flexibility and range of motion.

At Tality Fitness, we pride ourselves on a special approach towards working with older people, creating an environment of respect and understanding of the issues associated with ageing, by preserving our clients’ dignity and taking extra care in applying the knowledge of physiology of ageing when creating our training programmes.

SPORTS SPECIFIC TRAINING

To help you improve your sporting performance, we will analyse your particular chosen activity, assess its physical demands, movement patterns, and prescribe appropriate for that activity exercises and nutrition, taking into account your genetics, aerobic fitness level, flexibility, core strength, lactate tolerance, posture, stability, muscular strength and endurance. Our programmes are designed to be implemented over a 6-8 week time frame, at which point we will conduct a reassessment, where your new level of fitness is tested, progression noted and a new programme prescribed, designed to move past plateaus and to ensure long-term progression.

A balanced diet is a paramount in preventing such diseases and conditions as diabetes, obesity, osteoporosis, cancer, cardiovascular decease, anaemia, etc. The wealth of information available about different nutritional approaches can confuse and can sometimes even be harmful.

Fitness testing is designed to check your overall fitness levels, to highlight your strengths and identify weaknesses, to enable a training programme to be devised which will address the results, and to monitor your progress.

A regular fitness test is a great tool of motivation and of ensuring you are getting the best results out of your training.

Medical Referral scheme allows doctors to refer patients with a variety of medical conditions to a supervised programme of activity with a qualified fitness professional.

National Quality Assurance Framework for Exercise Referral Systems (2001) states that exercise referral process is : “…specifically directing a patient through the referral process to personnel and facilities where a tailored exercise programme can be devised and delivered to him or her”.

Exercise referral has become an established method of not only promoting physical activity/exercise to individuals, as a means of improving their health and well-being, but also encouraging habitual participation for long-term benefits.

One of the great benefits of exercise referral scheme is that we work close with your doctor, who keeps a record of your health status, which enables us to provide the most comprehensive treatment to you.

Whether you need rehabilitation after an injury or surgery, due to an illness, or simply because your doctor thinks that you need to get in better shape for health reasons, we will be able to design and supervise a safe, appropriate and enjoyable exercise programme to address your health needs and generally improve your well-being.
